This is nice, substantial piece of hardware. It's a square (well, technically a rectangle) with an opening of 1" X 1-1/8". Overall measurement is 1-3/8" X 1-1/2". The metal itself is 5 mm thick. Metal with a black satin finish, not too glossy, but with a bit of a sheen.
