This is a really neat piece of hardware. It's a spring gate swivel snap hook with a built-in cord end. The hook is a modified lobster claw, oval shape. You simply push it in to open. The cord end opening is 1/2" wide, and will accommodate fabric or leather straps that are up to 4 mm thick. The strap is held in place with a tiny screw. I use a dab of a strong fabric glue too, for added assurance. Overall measurements are 2" long and 5/8" wide at the widest point. Shiny gold finish.
